I have been growing my hair out and have been in the in-between stage for quite a while. After seeing Heather, my hair has never looked better. I wanted to grow it out and now with her amazing haircut I love my hair at the length I thought could never look good.
I have had the best experiences at this salon with every stylist I have gone to. I will not go anywhere else.

Heather. The only person who will cut my hair.
Whenever I finally find someone who can cut my hair I move. Heather cut my hair for the two years I lived in Pasadena. I loved my hair EVERY time I left that salon. She worked with me on growing it out and always listened to any requests and offered suggestions that were always flattering. When I told her I had naturally wavy hair and I never blow it dry, she scrunched it and used the diffuser and made the most beautiful waves I've ever had. Finally I'm not leaving a salon with super straight blown out hair! (my hair is thin and not flattering when it's like that)
Since moving up to the bay area in Feb. my first plan of action was to find another "Heather" at my local Aveda salon. Not possible. I hated the cut he gave me and will not be returning to that salon. Since I get my hair cut as often as I go down to LA, I will still continue to see Heather even though I live 6 hours north. She is the best. She waxes my eyebrows too and does a great job!
The rest of the staff is really pleasant. I've never had any issues with this place. Yes, parking in the back can be tricky, but it's LA after all. Parking on the street is always easy, and they have no problem running out to feed your meter if it's about to run out.

I usually come here to get my eyebrows threaded. If you are wondering and have began questioning "Should I switch to threading from waxing?" I definitely think the answer is yes. Ani ALWAYS does my eyebrows, and I really don't trust anyone else. Threading costs $10, and is SO worth it. What I like about threading is that it is MUCH more precise, and you can really work into the natural shape of your eyebrows. It's a lot harder to "mess up" or take some hair out that wasn't supposed to come out because of the precision and the technique. Plus, when you get your eyebrows threaded it lasts longer than waxing. The only thing I kind of miss about waxing is it kind of felt good to me, the warmth of the wax was relaxing, threading is slightly more painful, but really not that much.
Also I have gotten my hair cut here, and seriously best cut of my life. I had Tamara cut my hair and she always does a great job. The staff is very accommodating, will always ask if you would like some tea or coffee while you wait, and I always have a nice experience here.

I read the reviews on this page before choosing this salon. There was so much raving about Heather so I asked about her, and she was booked with appointments so I was left with two other options; fortunately I chose Alfred! He is an amazing hairdresser. Don't let his lower rates fool you-- he is great! I always get apprehensive about new haircuts since I normally am not quite satisfied afterwards, but I think this was the first time I actually came out very satisfied with my haircut. Alfred listens to my specific requests and even observes my hair's specific needs based on its texture and etc. I promised to yelp this!

I used to go to an Aveda salon and loved my stylist. I intended to continue going back to her, even though I now live an hour away. But, it just got too hard to make the trip.
After over 2 years of not getting my hair cut (I grow it to donate to Locks of Love), I decided it was time. After passing by Glendale SalonSpa regularly and reading the good reviews on yelp, I called to make an appointment.
I was on my way out of town and wanted to get it done before then. I was worried that they wouldn't be able to fit me in because I just had two days before I left. Even though it was such short notice, they were able to squeeze me in.
I made an appointment with Heather based on the reviews here. She was great. Very friendly...and patient! I had no idea what I wanted. The only information I gave her was that I wanted it short (but, still long enough to put in a ponytail) and low maintenance. Heather offered a suggestion and said, "sure, sounds good!" I am either a stylists dream...or nightmare, depending on how you look at it :-)
Heather did a great job and I love my cut. It is stylish and (the best part) easy to manage. I didn't really give her much to go on...and she managed to give me exactly what I wanted - even though I didn't even know what that was :-) Pretty impressive!
I had limited contact with the other people in the salon, but from what I could tell they were all friendly too.
Some other things - the prices are reasonable, Aveda products are great, and the salon is clean.
Thanks fellow yelpers for convincing e to give them a try :-)
Oh - One thing that is a little strange is that they do not let you put the tip on your card. So, make sure you bring some extra cash with you. I usually never carry any cash...thank goodness this was the one time I actually had cash on me.

I love Glendale Salon Spa! Tamera is my favorite hair stylist. She always gives me an amazing hair cut. I usually go see her for my short bob haircut. She's pricey, but it's worth it!

I have very curly hair. I struggled with it forever until I bought a flat iron. I thought it was the best thing ever...and then Tamera suggested the Brazilian Blowout. It is amazing! No more frizz, but my hair is still soft and natural. (And I've cut 30+ minutes off my routine!!!) Not only did Tamera do an amazing job, but she explained each and every step as she completed the treatment. I appreciated that added touch, but I've come to expect nothing less from her as a stylist.

Wonderful!
I hadn't been to a new salon in a while, so I was apprehensive about starting completely fresh. I found this place while Googling "salons near glendale" while at work, so it was complete luck I picked this one.
I went just to get a cut, and what I really liked while I scheduled my appointment and thought was very original, is the fact that they give a range of prices -- depending on the experience of the hairstylist. It's great for the financially-challenged people, who just want access to a salon that's not Supercuts, and also great for those who are willing to splurge and pay for quality, all in the same building. I paid $65 for a haircut, and I went to Heather. (I decided to splurge on this cut, because I needed one BAD due to a self-inflicted bang trim that didn't go well)
I usually get pretty stoked when the salon offers me coffee, but here, Heather gave me a scalp massage AND a hand massage. I felt pretty pampered. I also felt like she is one of the few that actually hears what I have to say about my hair, both what I like and don't like. ...and then she makes the haircut to match. She was phenomenal, and I'll be committed to saving up as long as it means I can keep going back.
